At Black & White Portrait Co., we deliver a luxury portrait experience at events across Pittsburgh, the U.S., and internationally. We don’t do photo booths—we create timeless portraits using professional lighting, a real photographer, and a studio backdrop. Our goal? Make every guest look and feel their absolute best.
Our photographers are at the heart of that experience. We’re looking for team members who love people, thrive in dynamic environments, and bring both technical skill and creative intuition to every shoot.

The job.
This is a gig-based role where you’ll be representing our brand at weddings, galas, corporate events, and private parties. You’ll set up our portable studio, photograph guests with professionalism and warmth, and help ensure that everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
You’ll be:

Capturing beautiful, high-quality portraits of guests in real time

Using Capture One or Lightroom to process and lightly retouch images on-site

Interacting with people all night long—making them feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera

Managing files, solving tech hiccups on the fly, and helping with equipment setup and breakdown
This role is equal parts photographer, host, and problem solver. If you light up in social settings and know your way around a camera and Lightroom/Capture One, we’d love to meet you.
What you will be doing.
What this is not.
This is not a full-time or beginner position. We’re happy to train you on our specific style and workflow, but you’ll need a solid foundation in photography and the ability to keep up with the fast-paced nature of live events.
What We’re Looking For

who are:

Friendly, professional, and great with people

Comfortable taking charge in a crowd and giving guests clear direction

Detail-oriented and quick with Lightroom/Capture One workflows

Tech-savvy and calm under pressure (gear doesn’t always cooperate—we need people who can troubleshoot fast)

Reliable communicators who respond promptly to messages, calls, and emails
-
Physically able to lift and set up gear (we bring the full studio with us)
Must-haves:
-
1–2 years of experience with Lightroom and/or Capture One

1–2 years of experience photographing people professionally

Availability for at least 2 weekend gigs per month (if you're already shooting weddings every weekend, this probably isn't for you)

Ability to work in high-energy, sometimes loud environments

Access to a car (we often carpool, but this helps!)
Nice-to-haves:

Studio or portrait experience

Customer-facing experience in retail, sales, or hospitality

Some physical fitness or stamina—our setups can be gear-heavy
